Congratulations to Danielle Korenkov recipient of the 2013 Ruth Caley Memorial Trophy.  Ruth Caley was a long time figure skating judge,  known best for her great passion for Artistic skating.   She will be sorely missed in this sport and especially amongst her beloved skaters in the area.  In her memory, the Ruth Caley Memorial Trophy will be awarded each year to the first place skater in the highest level of standard track Artistic event offered at the Garden State Games competition.  Danielle is the first ever recipient and we are all so very proud of her.  Congratulations Danielle!

Congratulations go to Steven Rossi for his achievements at the 50th annual New Jersey Council of Figure Skating Clubs competition.  Steven skated his way to first place and the GOLD in the Intermediate Men’s Short and Free Skate events.  In addition to two medals, Steven was awarded the Fritz Dietl Memorial Trophy.  Well done Steven!

Congratulations to our college and high school graduates!  We are proud to celebrate the following:

Camille Menendez, Magna Cum Laude, B.S. in Bioinformatics and also Business Essentials Certificate, Ramapo College. Camille received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award in Bioinformatics
 and is part of the College Honors program.

Geena Cockcroft, Summa Cum Laude, B.S. in Mathematics and Teacher Certification, Ramapo College.  Geena received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award in Mathematics.

Ruthann Inserra, Summa Cum Laude, B.A. in History and Teacher Certification, Ramapo College.  Ruthann received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award in History and Teacher Education.

Gabrielle Bruno, graduated Arcadia University in Glenside, PA. She earned a B.A. in Biology, pre-physician assistant studies concentration. Gabrielle received a Distinguished Scholarship Award.

Samantha Scarpa graduated from Bayonne High School. Samantha will be going to Montclair State University to pursue an English major.

Congratulations to GOLD medalist Steven Rossi.  Steven took the podium in first place at the SCOSNJ 2013 Spring Invitational for the Men’s Short Program event.  All of the Club skaters who represented IHNJFSC skated very well.  Great job skaters you are off to a great season!!

IHNJFSC wishes Liam Roumila all the best as he heads to the 2013 U.S. Figure Skating Championships .  Liam is one of twelve men competing in the Intermediate Men’s Freeskate events at this national competition in Omaha, NE. The event runs from January 20-27, 2013.   Have a great skate Liam!
